Who is feeling the most pressure right now? Lets see
1. Claude Noel
It sounds like Winnipeg has some patience left with Noel, but not making the playoffs yet since the team came back to the NHL and not having a good season this year isn't a good way to make a good impression. It wouldn't surprise me if either later this year, or at the end of the season if he got the boot.
2. I was about to say Kevin Dineen of the Florida Panthers, but when I Googled him it looks like they already fired him yesterday. I wonder what the hundred Florida fans think of that?
3. Ron Rolston
Any time a team gets off to a start like that, there's going to be questions about the coaches. I think Rolston has some time yet, but if the season keeps going like this, Rolston may be out, if not during the season maybe at the end.
4. Dallas Eakins
A little while ago I prematurely called for the firing of Eakins. I am not doing that here, but his situation is similar to that of Rolston. A performance like this isn't good, and the first person people usually start to wonder about is the head coach.
5. Michel Therrien
When isn't there pressure in Montreal? Despite having good seasons with the Canadiens, I get the impression that nobody really likes Therrien. I think he rubs certain players the wrong way, and I wouldn't be totally surprised if he gets shown the door sooner than people think.
are you kidding me!!! Dallas Eakins? what the oilers need is some consistency, they've had five different coaches in the last six years! Besides they need to stop putting the blame of the coaching and start holding the players accountable!
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying he's going to be fired or that he should be. I'm just saying he's under a lot of pressure. Any time a team performs this badly the coach gets a lot of the heat, and that is what is happening in Edmonton right now.
